Cineast cu talent de magician, minte de business-man si suflet de copil. Pentru el, cinematograful este un imens si perpetuu parc de distractii in care orice fantezie devine realitate, iar cheia supravietuirii celei de a saptea arte se afla in rezerva de infantilism prezenta in fiecare spectator, pe care filmul trebuie sa o descopere si sa o cultive. Pornind de la aceste premise, filmele sale devin campionii box-office-ului planetar (sase dintre ele se afla in fruntea listei titlurilor cu cele mai mari incasari din toate timpurile). Efectele speciale (tot mai performante), suspansul story-ului, interpretarea actorilor (el are darul de a descoperi si confectiona vedete din actori practic necunoscuti) constituie garantia succesului. Genul predilect: filmul de aventuri (stiintifico-fantastice, de groaza, in costume de epoca etc.) argumentat cu episoade sentimentale.
